Pisgah National Forest is- noted for waterfalls Pisgah Fish Hatchery - stock trout Cradle of Forestry is a National Historic Site located off US 276 in the Pisgah National Forest. It is the first school of Forestry in America called the Biltmore Forest School 1898-1913. Considered the birthplace of forestry education in America. On the grounds are restored and reconstructed building of school and exhibits of forestry equipment, 1915 logging locamotive, a steam powered sawmill, film and hiking trails.
Sliding Rock is located on US 276 north of Brevard. Slicing Rock is a large flat rock in a cold stream where people slide down into a pond. do not stand it is slippery. wear old cut off shorts. Water is ice cold. There are picnic tables and grills Devil's Courthouse is 45 minute drive west of Brevard near Highlands. Here you can go hiking.
