Durham NC Hotels

Durham is located North of Raleigh and Chapel Hill. The Main roads in and around Durham NC are I-85, I-40, US 15/US 501, US 70. The Amtrak station is located at 400 West Chapel Hill St. The Raleigh Durham International Airport is located off the  Durham Expressway.

Durham is located in the Piedmont triangle area

Duke Chapel is located on the west campus. Famous tourist attraction is the Statue of Robert E Lee among statues of Saints

Duke University is where the Duke University Medical Center is located

Bennett Place State Historic site is located at 4409 Bennett Memorial Rd off I-85. It is a Farmhouse where the largest troop surrender of the Civil War took place in April 16, 1865. At the historic site is a visitor center with exhibits on Civil War. Tours are available

Duke Homestead and Tobacco Museum is located at 2828 Duke Homestead Rd. It is a national historic landmark. The Museum is the Homestead of tobacco magnate, Washington Duke and exhibits featuring history of tobacco and the life of  Washington Duke.

Duke University Museum of Art (Nashur Museum of Art) is located on the  East Campus. The museum exhibits ancient to modern art. It houses the Brummer collection of Medieval and Renaissance Art and the Pre-Columbian art collection of Central and South American art.

Eno River State Park is located off I-85. You can go hiking, camping, rafting, canoeing, fishing and picnicking. There are class II rapids on Eno River. Launch canoes at: Cates Ford. The Park office is at Cates Ford. The Synnott's mill which is a gristmill is located in the Park. There is wildlife in the park. You can fish for Roanoke bass, crappie, bullheads, blue gill, crayfish. Walk across the Eno River on a swinging bridge.

Hayti Heritage center located at 804 Old Fayetteville St. The center has exhibits exhibits on African American Culture and history. The Hayti Heritage center was originally a Church built in 1890. It is a  national historic landmark

Historic Stagville is located at 5825 Old Oxford Highway. It is the remains of a large ante bellum plantation home, 18th and 19th century buildings

West Point on the Eno City Park is located at 5101 North Roxboro Rd. Here you will find a reconstructed 1778 gristmill, blacksmith shop and more

North Carolina Museum of Life and Science is located at 433 West Murray Ave and 309 West Morgan St. It is a restored Beaux arts structure. The museum has art shows, live theater, opera, music performances

American Tobacco trails has hiking and biking trails

Research Triangle is located Northwest of Raleigh and Southeast of Durham. The main roads in and around the Research Triangle are I40, NC 54, NC 55

Sarah P Duke Gardens is located at 418 Anderson St on Duke' University's west campus. Here are landscaped gardens. You can see dance and music performances here too

Durham Events

American Dance Festival  is located at Duke's west campus in Page Auditorium  held in early June and late July. The festival feature modern dance.

Blackburn Literary Festival is held at Duke University. It is an annual event in Spring

Bull Durham Blues Festival is held at Durham Athletic Park in September

Festival for the Eno is held at West Point park. It is a 3 day festival held 4th of July weekend featuring arts, crafts and performances.
