A predominant feature of The Hapuna Beach Prince site is the presence of a series of underground springs. In ancient times, during seasons of heavy rainfall these springs would bubble to the surface creating natural artesian fountains. The resultant streams would provide a source of respite and renewal for travelers along the otherwise dry and barren Kohala Coast. Thus the area was named /Hapuna/ or /Spring of Life/ in the Hawaiian language. There is so much to see and experience at the Hapuna Beach Hotel. You can be busy from morning to night, or if you choose you can relax and soak in the rays on the long white sand beach. The Hapuna Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course nestled in the dramatic natural contours of the land from the shoreline to about 700 feet above sea level. The course offers spectacular views of the Kohala coast and the Pacific Ocean while majestic Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, and Kohala Mountains form the backdrop. Some restrictions may apply. Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel will be doing some required repair work that we estimate to take place from May 1 2008 until August 31st 2008. We are mostly repairing some cracks in the facade that run from the lobby and extend down the corridors. At times during the day, you may hear noise from the repair most of which will come from removing the existing facade. The Ocean Terrace restaurant and Reef lounge will be closed during this time period. All our other restaurants will be in full operation and the Coast Grille will also be serving breakfast. Please look for some special activities going on at the hotel during this time period. We sincerely apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for your understanding as we make these repairs.
