Town Creek Indian Mound is located at 509 Town Creek Mound Rd, west of Pinehurst off NC 731 / NC 73. The Indian Mound is the oldest state historic site in NC. It features Pre-Columbian exhibits. There is a visitor center and museum. Self guided tours are available.

Tour de Moore Century Ride is a  100 mile race held on labor day.

Bryant House is near Pinehurst NC. The house was built in 1820. guided tours are available

Mclendon Cabin is located near Pinehurst NC. The cabin was built in 1760. guided tours are available

House in Horseshoe is located at 324 Alston House Rd, west of Sanford, north of Carthage NC. The house was built in 1772. It is a State historic site. A reenactment of a skirmish that took place here during the American revolution first weekend of August.
