Winston Salem is located in the Piedmont triad area off  I-40, I-40 Business, US 52.

The Winston Salem visitor center is located on Brookstown Ave and Cherry St.  Colleges in the area include: Winston Salem State University, Wake Forest University, Salem College. The airport serving the area is Piedmont triad International Airport and located off I-40

Old Salem Village

Old Salem Village is located at 900 Old Salem Rd. This is a big tourist attraction. It is a restored Moravian town with costumed guided tours. There are craft demonstrations, gardens, museums, shops, 18th & 19th restored buildings. There is also a visitor's center.

Reynolda House Museum of American Art

Reynolda House Museum of American art is located at 2250 Reynolda Rd. This building was the country home of RJ Reynolds. RJ Reynolds was a tobacco tycoon. The house was built in 1917. It was donated to the non profit arts and education institution by the Reynolds family in 1964. Today, it houses the permanent art collection of many famous artists including Frederic Remington, Mary Cassett, Georgia O'Keefe and Thomas Cole. Reynolda Gardens

Reynolda Gardens is located at Reynolda Rd. It is formal gardens owned by Wake Forest University.

Reynolda Village

Reynolda Village is located right next to Reynolda Gardens. It was a planned village built to house workers from the Reynolds Estate. Today, there are shops, galleries and restaurant here

Historic Bethabara Park

Bethabara Park is located at 2147 Bethabara Rd. It is the restored Moravian's 1st settlement in area became trading center for region. The buildings in the restored settlement include  a Congregation house, a Potters house and the Palisade. There is a visitor center. There are gardens & trails for hiking.  Guided tours are available.

Museum of Anthropology

The Museum of Anthropology is part of Wake Forest University. On display are artifacts and special exhibits.

Southeastern Center of Contemporary Art

Southeastern Center of Contemporary Art is located at 750 Marguerite Dr. The center exhibits temporary art.

Museum of Early Southern Decorative Art

The Museum of Early Southern Decorative Art is located at 924 South Main St in Old Salem NC. It features regional decorative arts from colonial period to 1820 and furniture, ceramics, paintings, etc. Guided tours are available.

SciWorks

SciWorks is located at 400 West Hanes Mill Rd. It is a Nature science center. Exhibits are on the exhibits are on environment and planetarium. There are exhibits on dinosaur fossils as well.

Tanglewood Park

Tanglewood Park is located on US 158, southwest of Winston Salem. It is a recreation park with championship golf course, canoes and paddleboats for rent. There are picnic tables. You can go  horseback riding, fishing, hiking and more.
